A thrilling evening of Beethoven’s genius awaits, featuring the world-renowned violinist Viktoria Mullova and led by the masterful baton of Douglas Boyd. A violinist of exceptional artistry and technical brilliance, Mullova will bring to life Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, a work of moving beauty and virtuosic finesse that remains one of the cornerstones of the violin repertoire.
The dramatic Egmont Overture will open the programme, a stirring musical embodiment of courage and resistance. The evening will conclude with the radiant Symphony no. 4, a masterpiece full of elegance, wit, and boundless energy, a testament to Beethoven’s lighter and gracious, yet vigorous side.
