Olive Museum

Τhe  museum displays exhibits used in the cultivation of olives and the production of olive oil, like old tools and storage utensils as well as other artefacts used in the picking of olives.

In the yard of the Olive Museum the visitor can see one of the oldest olive trees of Cyprus with an estimated age of 700 years.

Museum of Mining Heritage

On the hill that dominates the village of Asgata , the old primary school was restored and turned into a Museum of Mining and Mining Heritage. The museum exhibits various tools and machinery as well as ores from the mines of our region and from other mines in Cyprus. Also on display are old photographs from the mines.

The visitor can also watch a unique film taken in 1953, with authentic scenes from the mines. This film was filmed by Mr. Antonakis Konstantinidis (Porsevikos) who comes from the village of Asgata and who was a professional photographer in New York.
