Φέτος εξερεύνησε το νησί σου. Πήγαινε να απολαύσεις τις χαρές του βουνού, για να αποκομίσεις άλλες εμπειρίες. Γίνε περιπατητής σε μαγευτικά μονοπάτια της φύσης, με καταρράκτες με γάργαρα νερά και μυρωδιές πεύκου και αρωματικών φυτών, που η Κύπρος κατάφυτη προσφέρει απλόχερα. Ανακάλυψε την ομορφιά της θάλασσας, την ηρεμία του βυθού, την ζεστή αγκαλιά της αμμουδιάς κι άσε τον ορίζοντα να σε ταξιδέψει στο γαλάζιο του. 
 
 
Κάνε μια βόλτα στο παρελθόν κι επισκέψου τα χωριά του νησιού μας, που κράτησαν όλη την γοητεία του προηγούμενου αιώνα και τις παραδόσεις του τόπου μας ζωντανές. Δες την ιστορία του τόπου σου να ζωντανεύει μπροστά στα μάτια σου, σε αρχαία θέατρα και μεσαιωνικά φρούρια, γνώρισε από κοντά μύθους και θρύλους στα μουσεία μας. Αγκάλιασε τους καλλιτέχνες του τόπου σου, πήγαινε σε μια γκαλερί και δες τα έργα τους από κοντά, αυτοί εμπνέονται και δημιουργούν μέσα από την ομορφιά του νησιού μας.

 
 
Άσε τη γαστρονομία του τόπου μας να σε ταξιδέψει πίσω στη κουζίνα της γιαγιάς και της μαμάς σου, εκεί που δοκίμασες πρώτη φορά το φαγητό, που αργότερα θα γινόταν το αγαπημένο σου. Θυμήσου τις μυρωδιές που σε μαγέψαν από την πρώτη στιγμή, το δυόσμο, το βασιλικό, τον κόλιανδρο, το κύμινο και τη ρίγανη, όλα τα αρώματα της κυπριακής φύσης που ομορφαίνουν και μοσχομυρίζουν τα φαγητά μας. Πιες το γλυκόπιοτο κρασί μας, επισκέψου τα πολυβραβευμένα οινοποιεία μας και άσε το μεθυστικά αρώματα τοπικών ποικιλιών σταφυλιού να παρασύρουν τον ουρανίσκο σου σε ξέφρενο χορό.

Enthusiasts love the island’s rugged character, which can go from rocky to clay, and steep to flat, all within the space of 10km. And whilst you will enjoy the feel of the balmy Mediterranean breeze through your hair, unlike other destinations, the island’s wonderful climate lacks strong headwinds… the ideal setting for exploration by bike! Whether venturing out on your own adventure, or following one of the myriad of routes, the roads ahead unfold across scenic urban, rural, mountainous and coastal terrain, with plenty to discover along the way. You will find all manner of sights whilst on two wheels; streams, forests, quaint villages, the natural, the cultural and the historical, and it is easy to end up somewhere delightfully unexpected.

The most popular months for cycling are those of spring, which also welcome high-calibre cycling events, including The Sunshine Cup and The Volkswagen Tour. The courses of the events are designed in a way to suit the abilities of top elite riders, whilst also providing leisure bikers with a fun and testing experience. In the months between, the island is considered to be a first­rate training location, as well as a cyclist’s dream environment just for the sheer love of the sport.

The Cyprus Cycling Federation (www.cypruscycling.com) ­ a member of the International Cycling Union (UCI) – is the organiser or supporter of major events and other competitions throughout the year, whilst each town has its own dedicated cycling groups who always welcome visitors on their weekly rides. And with new networks of urban cycle paths being added continually, and joining the designated cycle routes for each region, all you need to do is grab a map or complimentary cycling publication and get pedalling!
