Dr. Costas Kadis
|Prof. Costas Kadis is the Dean of the School of Education and the Coordinator of the MSc and PhD Programs on Education for the Environment and Sustainable Development, at Frederick University.|
He graduated from the Department of Biology - University of Athens in 1991 and received a PhD from the same Department in 1995. He also attended other post graduate courses in Greece and the USA.
He worked at the University of Athens as a postdoctoral researcher. In 1996 he joined Enalion Environmental Management Centre of the Cyprus Development Bank, as a scientific consultant. In 1998 he joined the Research Promotion Foundation and served the Foundation from various positions, including the position of the Deputy Director General.
In 2005, he returned to academia and established a Research Unit at Frederick University, focusing on sustainable management of natural resources and sustainable development. Since then he has participated in more than 30 research projects that were funded by the EU, the United Nations and other local and international funding agencies.
Prof. Kadis has been among the authors of scientific books and several scientific articles, published in international journals and proceedings of professional conferences, after peer review. Moreover, his published work includes several research reports and environmental impact assessments.
Prof. Kadis served as Minister of Health of the Republic of Cyprus from July 2007 to February 2008. In March 2008 he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus as the Leader of the Greek Cypriot Technical Committee on the Environment, which was established within the framework of the effort that was initiated for the resolution of the Cyprus problem. He is also a member of the National Committee on Research, Technological Development and Innovation.
Mr. Angelos Loizou
Angelos is a Chartered Accountant member of the Management Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers Limited in Cyprus and in charge of Hospitality and Leisure Services. He is a past Chairman of the board of International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) and a fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, having wide experience on various financial consultancy matters.
He has run a number of courses and lectured extensively on general financial management and management skills both in Cyprus and abroad. A number of his articles on Tourism matters have been published in the press in Cyprus and the International Press. He has served on numerous committees for the development of the Cyprus business community through mainly the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations such as various Municipalities. He has also conducted a number of studies for the Cyprus Government and other local authorities. For many years he consults and assists the Cyprus Hotel Association and other affiliated bodies to organize seminars and industry related courses. He has been a member of the Board of Paphos Chamber of Commerce for six years (1999-2005) and a member of the Board of Nicosia Tourist Development Company Limited (2007 – 2011).
He has recently assisted the District of Pafos as the Project Manager, in their successful endeavours to be selected as the European Capital of Culture for 2017.
Dr. Paris Cleanthous
|Dr. Paris Cleanthous is the director of the MBA and MPSM programmes at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM) and professor of Strategy and Marketing. At the same time, he is a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Open University Cyprus.|
Dr. Cleanthous received his B.Sc. in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He then continued his studies at Yale University where he received his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Economics.
Prior to CIIM, Dr. Cleanthous held academic positions at New York University’s Stern School of Business (2003-2007) and at the University of Cyprus (2007-2012). He has also held positions at the International Monetary Fund and Korea University and has taught and presented in a multitude of universities and organizations worldwide.
His fields of research and teaching are strategic growth, strategic innovation, marketing strategy, competitive advertising and market research, specializing mainly in the tourism and health-care industries.
He has consultancy and training experience in global, multinational, SME, and start-up, private and public organizations, on strategy, innovation, marketing, and business intelligence. He also has consultancy experience in governmental and semi-governmental organizations and in academic forums.
He is married and has 3 children.
Mr. Nikos Grigoriou
Mr. Nasos Hadjigeorgiou
|Nasos J. Hadjigeorgiou is a holder of a Bsc degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from the Johnson and Wales University , USA and a Postgraduate in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing. He is also a holder of the Professional Designations, Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) and Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) from the E.I of the American Hotel and Lodging Association as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing,UK since 2007.|
He has a long presence in the Tourism Industry having served through various levels has covered almost all aspects of the Hospitality industry. This experience ranges from entry level kitchen employee, to supervisory and managerial positions in operations and marketing in a Cruise line, Hotels, Restaurants, Airline & Aviation Agency, Travel Agency, Inbound and Outbound Tour Operators, Cyprus Hotel Association-Pafos District and the Regional Tourism Committee of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
His presence in the industry (from 1990 until today ), his participation in the most fundamental travel and tourism exhibitions of the World, developing personal relationships with major tour operators, travel agents and airlines, his participation in meetings and seminars regarding the Hospitality industry with local and international stake holders, his involvement and contribution in tourism related studies, surveys and strategic plans, design and implementation of marketing campaigns, his achievements in sourcing EU funding and much more have equipped him with valuable know how and excellent managerial and organizational skills.
He is a member of the Board of the International Network ECTN ( European Cultural & Tourism Network) based in Brussels and during the last five years employed as an Executive Manager by the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism.
He is married and he has two children.
Mr. Stelios Ioannides
|Stelios Ioannides was born in Limassol in 1950. He is a Businessman and Legal Advisor. He studied Law at the Law School of the Athens University (Law Degree, Bachelor of Arts (LLB). He obtained a Business Administration Dimploma from the American Deree-Piere College in Athens. He then moved to the UK where he studied for his Master degree graduating from Brunel University, London, with specialization in Business Law.|
Upon his return to Cyprus in 1977 and after he has been awarded the relative Certificate of a practicing Lawyer, he worked for a few years as a Lawyer at a large Law Office in Cyprus.
He further decided to move into business and joined his family business and he was since then involved in the management of several companies in which he was a shareholder, starting from the post of Sales & Marketing manager, General manager, Director and Managing director. His main current activities are Property development and management as well as imports and trading.
During his 35 year business carrier, he has also been involved in tourism, both as main shareholder in a 4 star hotel in Limassol as well as in the field of the Hotel and Catering consulting being a major partener of the group of consultants who have been involved in the construction of a considerable number of hotels and service apartments in Cyprus.
He also served in various posts in bodies such as:
- Member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Land and Property Owners Association (1979-1990)
- Member of the Board of Directors of the International Conference Center and Philoxenia Hotel (1993-1998)
- Member of the Rent Control Tribumal of Limassol (1983-1994)
- Member of the Rotary Club of Limassol – Amathusia
- Member of the Apollon Football Club.
Mr. Kostas Koumis
|Kostas Koumis was born in Paralimni in 1977. He studied Business Administration in Coventry University and then he continued with a Master Degree in Media and Communication, University of Nicosia. He is also holder of a Degree in Marketing, Cyprus Institute of Marketing.|
He is the Director of Famagusta Tourist Commercial Industrial Association. He has worked also as Director of Marketing and Communication in Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as Director in Atlantis College and as Parliamentary Associate.
During all these years was participated in several committees dealing with the development of the Famagusta District. He was the Chief Editor in the 1st Famagusta regional newspaper.
He is married with 2 children.
Mrs Xenia Loizidou
|Xenia I. Loizidou graduated the Civil Engineering Department of National Technical University of Athens (Hydraulics Section, Harbour and Coastal Works Laboratory) and Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of London (MSc, DIC in River, Estuary and Coastal Engineering). Since 1990 she has been working with issues relevant to Integrated Coastal Zone Management, coastal erosion control, coastal adaptation to climate changes, decision support systems and others.|
She has been member of several European and international expert groups and networks as executive coastal engineer and ICZM expert and has cooperated with international organizations and organizations from more than 30 countries. She was involved in several EU funded projects (e.g LIFE, EUROSION, LdV, EU Frameworks for Research, MEDA, DG Environment projects and other), international funded projects (by UNDP, UNEP, USAID, WWF International), and several regional, transnational, national and private funded projects. She is the author of more than 50 original papers, technical reports, and co-author of books such Lead Author in the Special IPCC Report on Methodological and Technological Issues in Technology Transfer, OURCOAST case studies, EUROSION, LitusGo education manuals etc. She is reviewer in scientific journals, external lecturer in Universities and a regular author of articles on coastal environment in newspapers and social media. She is Member of the Board of Directors of research SME ISOTECH ltd Research and Consultancy and Director of the NGO AKTI Project and Research Centre. She holds several offices relevant to marine and coastal issues.
Mr. Aristos Tapakkis
| Mr. Aristos Tapakkis was born in Drousia Pafos on the 1st of October 1964.|
After completing his army service, he studied and graduated in Germany. He holds an M.A in Economic, a B.A. in Business Administration and a Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
He is fluent in Greek, German and English.
After returning to Cyprus he got married and now has 4 children.
In 1993 he formed A.T Multitech which today is one of the biggest distribution companies in the field of Information Technology in Cyprus, distributing brands such as HP, Samsung, Lenovo, Canon, Microsoft and much more.
He is also the founder and managing director of Techdata, Yardland, and Legasys.
